The Glyncoed Entertainment Events Committee, known as the GEEC SQUAD, brings fun and festivities to Blaenau Gwent! We are your neighborhood wizards, conjuring up spectacular events and shenanigans that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

About Us

We offer a wide variety of events throughout the year, ensuring there’s something for everyone in our community.

For our senior residents, we regularly host Afternoon Tea Parties featuring bingo and live entertainment. If you’re a fan of bingo, we also have Musical Bingo and Quiz Bingo nights.

Parents can enjoy special themed evenings such as Prosecco and Pizza nights or Burger and a Pint gatherings. For those who love to dress up, we organise 80s and 90s Fancy Dress Discos.

Our annual celebrations include the beloved Valentine’s Family Disco Fever, Easter Eggstravaganzas, and Halloween Frights Parties, complete with our famous Jump N’ Scare Walks. As the festive season approaches, we bring the community together with Christmas parties and our grand Santa Sleigh Parade, which culminates at the community Christmas Tree for the highly anticipated lights switch-on ceremony.

The highlight of the year is our brand-new festival, GFEST, which promises to be bigger and better than ever. Compared to this, last year’s carnival was just a warm-up! Get ready for thrilling moments, unforgettable experiences, and memories that will be the talk of the town.

But that's not all! We are not just here to make you laugh and dance. We are on a mission to keep your wallets happy too. To keep ticket costs at a minimum, we work hard to organise, fundraise, and secure grants. And here's the cherry on top - entrance to the Festival is always free for Blaenau Gwent under 12's! (must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult 18+)

Uplifting a Resilient Community

Blaenau Gwent has faced its share of challenges, with higher than average levels of unemployment, senior residents, disabled individuals, Single-Parent Families, and those dealing with Various Addictions. Mental Health Struggles also weigh heavily on the Community. The GEEC SQUAD is determined to provide a much-needed outlet for joy, connection, and self-expression.

The Geek Squad will also be looking into promoting events for our senior community, afternoon teas with bingo and live entertainments, plus music and quiz bingo nights. We don't forget the Mams and Dads. We have Prosecco and Pizza nights, Burger and a Pint nights, 80s and 90s Discos, in-order to uplift their mental health, sense of belonging, camaraderie and general well-being.

Year-Round Joy and Celebration

We hold year-round seasonal events, plus many, many more to add throughout the year. All your ticket purchases go toward helping us to help our community.

Valentine's Family Parties: Bring the community together with festive dances and activities for all ages.
Easter Celebrations: Delight Children and Seniors alike with egg hunts, parties, afternoon teas and live entertainment.
Halloween Thrills: Offer Spooky Fun for both kids and adults, with a torchlight parade and optional Jump Scares.
Joyful Christmas Traditions: Spread holiday cheer with a Santa Sleigh Parade, Tree lighting, Santas Grotto and festive parties.

Through these events, the GEEC SQUAD aims to foster a sense of community, improve mental well-being, and provide much-needed support. By keeping prices low, we ensure that these celebrations are accessible to all, bringing people together and giving them an outlet to express themselves.
